My name is Jeanetta and I'm new to the chick game. My husband and I have been talking about it for years and finally decided to do it.
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Very new!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? So we don't have any yet. He is still in the process of finishing up building the coop and run. I think we may be late to the party though cause everywhere online seems to be sold out of chicks!
(3) What breeds do you have? We are looking at getting barred rocks, rhode island reds, australorps and maybe orpingtons.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I think we like the idea of just being able to raise them ourselves for eggs
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I like to read and garden a little
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have 2 kids, a 15 year girl and 13 year boy and a blue heeler mix named blue! I'm a teachers assistant at a local elementary school
