I wished I had a kit I could have assembled, but no, it was a big pile of lumber on my porch before it got turned into this! Definitely the most involved structure I've ever built. Even though it was a lot of fun do to, I don't know that I'd want to do it again anytime soon!Very nice coop. Is it a kit coop?
Welcome to BYC!Hi! We’re new to raising chickens, but have wanted to raise them for a long time now and the pandemic finally gave us the kick in the pants to do it (along with everyone else these days it seems).
We’ve got 10 lovely ladies that we’ve been raising from chicks. Today they are coming up on 7 weeks old and are really looking lovely!
We ordered a “rare” mystery mix from our breeder and have been having fun identifying or breeds.
Our best guess at this point is:
2 x Barred Rock
2 x Delaware
2 x Appenzeller Spitzhauben
2 x Welsummer
1 x Some Kind of Cochin
1 x We’re not quite sure, looks kind of like a Wyandotte-ish looking bird
It’s been a lot of fun building our coop. We wanted a Carolina Coops styled one, but made modifications to make it our own.
