(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first chick when I was 8
and had chickens/birds ever since!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have 2 hens rn and chicks about to hatch any time now!
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 2 ISA browns!
with some Golden laced polish and Appenzellers in the incubator
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
To get to see them be themselves
And how they all are unique in there own way
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I'm a model horse collector and tack maker
And I also raise butterflies and moths!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family is from Croatia but i
Grow up in Norway
Until I was 10 and then we traveled Europe for 2 years before we moved to Portugal! (Where we live now)
I have always had a love for animals.... especially birds
But I also ride horses and work with dogs here and there
I used to breed chickens for colored eggs (I had about 80+)
And kept ducks/geese
But sadly had to sell them all as we could not keep them anymore (due to some financial problems) but are now slowly starting to build up again!
which I'm super excited about
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC true Google
And I have known about it for about a year
not really sure.... just felt it was time to join since I always come here to look for answers haha
