So I have a Rhode Islamd red rooster as well, another question is do I HAVE to separate them from my hens to keep my egg production going? I’m new to the rooster thing!!! Some say no some say yes! But all my chickens are free range

How many hen's do you have? They say on average that it should be one rooster per 10 hen's or the rooster's will fight, and could also do damage through over breeding the hen's.

Yikes!!!! I have 12 hens we do have intentions on getting more just not at this moment!

If you are planning on keeping the other boy's until you get more girl's, you could always make what they call a bachelor pen for them.
