How long is it going to be for my new RIR pullets to settle into my flock? I just got them earlier this week and they're supposed to start laying within the next 2 or 3 weeks. All that I can tell you is that ALL of the chickens peck and boss them around. So how long do you think it will take my flock to get used to my new RIR pullets? I'm also picking another RIR pullet up tomorrow afternoon after church.

In my experience, my RIR took about 7 to 10 days to fully integrate. She was probably about 5 months while the other girls were about 4.5 months. They chased and pecked on her quite a bit until one day it just stopped. I had the coop set up with some hiding places so she could duck for cover if needed. Worked really well, she came out for food and water and hid a lot for the first several days. Slowly she started to assert herself and voila, she was integrated.

Well the first two RIR pullets seem to be doing okay. Now the new one........... that's another story. Poor girl.
