You can also go to tools, internet options, advanced, multimedia, turn off animation. They'll show but in still mode. Helps the pages load a little better.

Ok, i've been here what..a month and just noticed this thread. dummy-me.

Anyway, just wanted to say that I've found the site to be one of the best laid-out and user-friendly I've seen. Everything looks and works great! I'd love to make a suggestion, but I can't think of anything to change or add.
