Hey Josh, If I had a pic of one of your pullets, I might have used that. You have some darn nice birds!!

The pullet in the pic, I believe, may be a bit dark but the picture quality is great and shows what wonderful type she has.. which is very important. I think we'll have to wait til the variety is accepted, a standard is written and we have qualified judges to let us know where we all stand.

You are right in that "milli fleur" is not a cochin color, however, "mille fleur" is in many countries besides the UK.. including New Zealand. Just ask NZpouter because he's from there and is a member of BYC and has them. U.S. milles can't compare to those from the UK as their lines are much older.

So, did you import yours, Tate?

Thanks for the complements Erin:D

I love the color of the hen in that second pic. That's what I'm striving for. If you have any others please email or PM the links.

Josh

In case you don't all colors were made the same as we are making mille cochins. There is no reason why there can't be as many colors of cochins as there are old english. It can be done. If someone somewhere hadn't put the effort in we wouldn't have most of the colors and varieties we have. Remember the all came from red jungle fowl.

I don’t care if people use Ostridges and Canaries to create Mille Cochins, I’m just glad that they’re as far along as we have them now. I really think that we’re not that far off.

Here are some pictures of Millie Cochins that I found like 2 years ago one night.

!!!!THESE ARE NOT MY BIRDS!!!!!

I don’t remember who the breeder was that they came from or anything about them other than it wasn’t someone in the US. I wish I would have written down the website that I found them at because I haven’t been able to find them since.

Anyway, I hope to get some of my birds to look as good as these in the near future.
