I don't think anyone would be mad that you're raving about their birds

They're your birds, you can do as you wish. I didn't see where anyone said they weren't well-developed. Are they imported?

ETA: tate, I'm sorry if you took my questions the wrong way? I didn't mean to offend.

Hey Lynne, just like you predicted, my little yellow pullet has a bright red comb and is showing off his manliness to all the rosecomb chicks

But, Im sure he'll be a beaut!

On a good note, I transferred my mille and two oegb eggs from my bator to my 3 columbian broodies the other day... they are to hatch today and tomorrow and I wanted the humidity to be perfect. I went in the coop this evening when I got home and the hen in the bottom nest was up with the other two and there was shell peices and membrane on the floor
sad.png
I looked under all the broodies and no baby

Just when I was starting to panic, I heard a faint peep come from the corner of the coop... there was a just hatched mille chick that was a bit chilled but healthy. I stuck it under ole faithful

and now it's lively and fluffing out!!

OMG you nearly had me in a state of shock. I was already to panic before I got to the end of the paragraph.

What color is the baby???? Don't worry about the little yellow guy. If he colors up as well as my Hillary, you will be pleased.

Keep us posted on additional chicks. We "need" pics!!!!!!

You had me scared there for a minute. But I'm glad it had a happy ending.

Oh, by the way, I'm up to 3 pips!

Congrats!

Congrats on your columbian babies, hippichick!!!

My first baby is yellow. I have two more pips and I took the problem broody out and put her in the brooder with a couple dud eggs(She was invading the other nests and kicking out eggs in the process)... She'll get the chicks as they hatch so I can keep a close eye on these little preciouses.
