I’m Jess. Gonna try to do this quickly and use the prompts and not bore you guys.
I’m 40yo from South Carolina. Married to my high school hunny for 21 years (yesterday!). 3 teenagers, 1 Aussie, 6 cats, 1 pot belly pig, 1, turtle, and 21 chickens “currently”.
Started my chicken journey last September. Incubated our first clutch and now have a mixed flock of personally incubated, purchased from tractor supply, and babies the first chickens we hatch have brooded themselves. Pretty cool to come full circle!
Breeds we have are:
1 English Jubilee Orpington (roo)
1 Cinnamon Queen
1 Cinnamon Queen second gen
2 Rustic Rocks
1 Black Sex Link
2 Sapphire Gem Olive Eggers
2 Turkens
2 Rhode Island Reds
2 Starlight Green Eggers
3 backyard mix
And 4 of what were supposed to be Easter Eggers but I’m pretty sure they aren’t and that is what motivated me to finally make a profile here so I could post pics and ask for opinions on them. lol.
Professionally I am a self employed luxury nail artist with a studio on my home property. My clients love seeing the free range beauties at their appointments and my Roos are sweethearts about all the guests thank goodness!
My other hobbies and interests include (in no particular order) gardening and house plants, crochet and knitting, freestyle roller skating, baking, used to sing professionally but these days I have fun with karaoke now and then, tattoos, lazy lake days on the boat, and feeding my addiction to audio books.
Ok, think that’s it. Now let’s figure out what the not Easter Eggers are! Lol
