My name is Jennifer, I'm 48 with 3 daughter (28,25 &17) Been Married for 30 yrs this July.
I'm from Mississippi ( Heart of the Delta & home of the Blues )

I thought I go on and say hey since I been a stalker off and on since 2012.
I guess that's the year I first got into wanting backyard chickens. I started off
with 8 "pretty little liars" :love 7 Rhode Island Reds 1 polish something!

As of the first of the year we were down to 3 Rhode Island Reds and there laying has
grown slim/none. So I debated did I want to add more or take a break.. Well take a guess...
Over the last month I have bought the following

Breed Current age
3-Buff Orpington's 7 weeks
3-Red Sex Links 7 weeks
3-Golden Wyandotte 4 weeks
6- Easter Eggers 3/2 weeks
2- Cooper Marans 3 weeks
3- Welsummer Marans 1.5/2 weeks
2- Delaware's 1.5/2 weeks
2- Barred Rocks 3 weeks
Yep I went Chicken crazy :wee
Husband hasn't realized yet I got 7 more 2 days ago!! :idunno

So I actually have 3 different brooders. The oldest though are off the heat lamp.
Can't wait til the day they will all be one flock! Bite my tongue:tongue because you and I know there will be some kind of Drama when it comes to girls ;)

As for my set up we took my husband's old shed and turned it into coop. We have a quarter acre fenced in around the coop ( i think its 12'x12' ) that we can close in case company or my oldest daughters visit with there dogs. But mostly they free range the entire fenced in back yard which is a solid acre.

Making the shed to a coop is how I found backyard chickens. I goggled about chicken coops and came across this site.

Well I rambled enough..
Good day all!
