Hey y’all from Oklahoma

Hello Y’all my name is Christina. I live in Oklahoma. I’m a new member. Ive been raising my 3 grandsons for 5 years and only been raising chickens for about a year. I have a mixed flock, 15 hens and 1 rooster. One of my hens has just hatched some chicks yesterday. I’ve read some places not to move them just to leave them with the rest of the flock, that momma will protect them and they will keep her spot in the pecking order. some have said to move them. I’m not sure what to do. Any advice would be welcome.

Hi Christina, welcome to BYC! I never move my broodies and babies. I have a pretty laid back bunch.
I think it depends on your flock. If you feel they are threatened by another hen or the rooster, you may have to move them.
