Hey Y'all! From down in the Heart of Dixie!

Hi,
I'v always look on BYC, but never post.
I guess you could say I'm a newcomer to !
I live in GA.on the line of AL. Like on the chad.
Just started the chicken thing myself some time in april of 2010.

Kim's Chix :

It was during the daytime. He was one if my free-rngers. I think I'll be putting some poison out for the chicken killing thief! I've already got everyone else put up in the pens for now.

I don't think I would put poison out. You don't know what it is/was and anything can eat the poison and it would have to be a lot of poison and pretty potent to kill a bobcat or fox. By the way, we've lost freeranging chickens to both bobcats and foxes in the middle of the day in broad daylight. They'd wait at the edge of the woods and watch and wait for our dogs to be elsewhere and then make a run for it and grab whatever chicken happens to be too close to the woods. We now have six big dogs including two German Shepherds and two Great Pyrenees and no longer have the problems with the coyotes at night or the other varmits during the day. All of our animals freerange which is why I'm opposed to any type of poison - you never know which animal might eat it.
