Thanks for the warm welcome! I have grown my flock through Tractor Supply & friends needing to rehome.

List of characters in order of appearance:
1) Jolene- Orpington, Cooperative Extension extra, app. 30 weeks old
2) Black Betty- Black Copper Marans, Cooperative Extension extra, app. 30 weeks old
3) Bearded Lady- Easter Egger? Got from a family member, app 36 weeks old?
4) Ed- Black Copper Marans roo? from a friend, unknown age
5) Taylor- Barred Plymouth Rock roo, TSC, 15 wks old, free-ranging with his BFF Tiny Tim
6) Tiny Tim- Brown Legbar Bantam roo?, TSC, 15 wks old, free-ranging with his BFF Taylor
7) Susannah- Speckled Ranger?, from a friend who said she was a Plymouth Rock, unknown age
8)Clementine- Easter Egger?, from a friend who said she was an Easter Egger, unknown age
9) Bernadette- Australorp?, same friend as Clem & Suse, unknown age

If you want some help to predator-proof your coop, you could post your set-up and we'll try help, or we also have a Predators and Pets forum you could skim through or post in too. Usually, most varments will return once they get the taste.

BTW, we'd love to see a photo of your chickens too! They sound like a great variety!

Debbie292d, We let some younger chicks into the run and returned home later than anticipated. Unfortunately, they didn't follow the rest into the coop, and the raccoon pulled them through the wire fence. We are still heartbroken that we made such a costly mistake. I will certainly read through the predator forum to learn more about keeping the flock safe. Thanks for sharing!

Love your names for them. I do have a Black Betty too. She's a black silkie and the name makes my hubby start singing every time I call her. I was thinking of naming one some wild band song to see if he does that one too, like ACDC's Thunderstruck. :gig
