HHD Mini 24 incubator

Hello I've just used a HHD Mini 24 for the first time. It worked perfectly up to day 19 when the turner trays are removed. I placed 12 eggs on the bed ready to hatch. The first chick emerged at the end of day 19 which meant the temperature had been too high even though the monitor read 37.6 and I'd already checked it against a digital thermometer placed on the turner trays. When I checked the temperature on the bed at the air inlet it was 50C. Too late I realised that the eggs nearest the air inlet were too hot. On day 22 I opened the shells to find 3 unfertilised eggs and 5 dead fully formed chicks. The only reason 4 had hatched was that they were at the farthest end end away from the air inlet. Don't know whether to blame myself or the incubator. Be aware that the air inlet may be too high a temperature when day 19 comes and any eggs are near to it.
