I've been told I should provide a dirt bath for my chooks , any truth in this ?
Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us!
Glad you could join us here! Chickens sure do enjoy a dust bath and I'm sure yours would very much appreciate one. Dust bathing can help them keep free of parasites plus other things too. Please do check out this article all about them ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/dust-baths-what-they-are-and-why-they-are-important
Enjoy your time here on BYC and all the chicken chat
Thanks for that, good article, got all the stuff I need and hopefully it'll keep them out of my herbs but I won't hold my breath on that one, eh
Your most welcome
Now keeping them out of things is a whole different ball game
Hello there and welcome to BYC!
Oh they do love their dust baths!! That is a great article that Yorkshire Coop has left for you. And yes, if you have tender greens around, they are a magnet for chickens. Keeping them out of the garden is a full time job!
Great to have you aboard! Make yourself at home here and welcome to our flock!
Were all super glad you joined the flock! Yes, chickens LOVE dust bathing! The only thing that could probably draw my chickens from their dust bathing would be a handful of treats! If your chickens don't have access to natural dirt than you can provide them with some sand or you could check this out:
Have a wonderful time on here!
So glad you joined us at the Backyard chickens flock.
