My name is Jerry and I'm from Piney Flats, TN. I have a small flock of 3 Cuckoo Marans, 3 Light Brahmas (these 6 are 5 months old, 1 what I believe is a 1 yr old Blue Cochin Hen, and 1 Barred Rock Rooster. The latter 2 I just recently received from my mother in law. One of my Marans have just started to lay, 2 small eggs in the past week. I've had the Cochin for 3 days now and have 2 eggs from her. I'm 43 yrs old and just recently got back into raising chickens, I raised 4-h chickens when I was younger. People thinks I'm crazy when I talk about my girls, but that's ok. Nice to be here and thanks for having me.

At 43, you're probably past the 4-H stage of chickens.
But they're still fun. You'll get right back to it.

Hi Jerry, you're not alone in talking to and about your hens. I have "friends" that I suspect come over just to go feed treats to my girls. And my petsitter goes grocery shopping just for them, getting them nice greens or juicy worms or dried fruit.
