I am actually going to be raising Muscovy ducks and I am excited! I posted on another thread with a few questions and can't wait to hear back. In addition to the Muscovies I am also getting some geese ( i am hoping for Pomeranians) and some Nigerian dwarf goats. I have 3 acres of property and my poor head is just flooded with ideas.

I have dubbed my soon to be hobby-farm "3 dog night" farm as I have 3 dogs who all sleep with me at night. I will be adding bees to the farm, hopefully as well, but that will have to be next year since I didn't know how early you needed to start. I am looking forward to meeting and trading info with people who are obsessed with this stuff too!! Seriously, somebody talk to me, my family is sick of my babbling on about this stuff and will no longer take my calls....

You have come to the right place. BYC is sanctuary for chicken folks who live and work with NON chicken folks. You can talk to your heart's content here show us all the photos of your chickens, gr.chickens etc. we will just eat them up. If you put your state name in the search box it will come up. Post on your state thread and you may even find other BYCERS just a stone's throw away. Then you can talk to them in person. Golly, even I am so excited for you. Welcome to Backyard chickens ta dah!

Hi and a warm welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. I think if i had 3 acres I'd go into meltdown just thinking of what to do! Anyway, - you have some great advice already so I'll just say hello!

All the best

I think we all understand where you're coming from with non-poultry people not wanting to hear about it any more, lol. We get that a lot (and the eye-rolling is just as bad).

Not only do we talk chickens, ducks and geese, some of us talk about goats and bees too!

Chatter to your heart's content, there's always someone here to talk to (and we have fun too).

Thanks for joining us!
