Hi everyone, I'm new to raising chicken s, this is my first year actually and I keep coming back to this site for info. I started my little back yard flock with 7 one day old Plymouth Partridge Rock bantams and 8 silkies. So far I'm having a blast! Nice to meet everyone.

Hello there and welcome to Backyard chickens! I have seven Partridge Plymouth Rocks as well! One of them suffered a bad cut on her back when she was 2 weeks old, then a week later I went on a two mile hike up a mountain with her on my shoulder, then when she was 10 weeks old, a weasel sucked her blood, but was scared away (I do not know what by) and she B-A-R-L-E-Y lived, her most recent adventure was going to a potluck on my shoulder. All the same poor chicken. Her name is Rey and I love her. Here is a picture of her on top of the mountain.
