Great forum! Not only is it filled with info but seems to be filled with good people.

My family does nuisance wildlife control so my only expierence with poultry is in birds we have captured or rescued. Then yotes killed my birds and my hen turkey and I got into predator hunting ontop of the wildlife control.

We had a 3 acre hobby farm in the family for about 100 years. Sold it , Selling the 2 family in town and looking to upgrade to a much larger place ouside the Ny capital district.

Thanks guys. I wish I knew this website exsisted year ago!!!!! Most of the birds we used to have were rescues and captures as said above. It seems the "south american natives" in the area who work and live at country clubs thought cock fighting and free range birds were a good idea. The staff administrators and rediculasly wealthy members clearly didnt think so tho. Since I had the land I put them up. My hen turkey was a wile loner which I called by mouth (no need for a mouth caller

tho)

I miss the birds and my interested along with my honey's interests in possibly getting 4-6 laying hens and possibly some birds for meat. Since im a trapper and a hunter along with owning a commercial fishing business ( we are now selling) Im no stranger to dirty , stinky , bloody , scratchy and down right unique situations when it comes to critters haha.

Ive learned more in 2 days of reading on BYC then I did in years of having my birds RIP. I'm very excited to have found you guys!
