Hi All 
I am completely new to chickens, but I've been researching and stalking this website for a while. We just brought home 6 pullets this weekend-- 4 barred rock and 2 white leghorns. So far so the girls are perky and plucky. Eating and drinking well. I've got 1.5 acres in a quiet farm town on the south coast of Massachusetts. We've got 2 littles who are gonna help raise up these chicks and a BIG doggo who is gonna watch over them all!
Happy to finally be able to join in on the fun! I'm sure I'll have lots of questions to be answered down the line here.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- New to chickens, got our first batch of chicks this weekend 3/20/21.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
-6 Pullets
(3) What breeds do you have?
-4 barred rocks and 2 white leghorns
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
-Fresh eggs and my kids having the experience of being outside and raising animals.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
-Camping and boating
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
-I've got an almost 4 yr old and an almost 1 year old. Just moved out of the suburbs to a more rural farm community and we are loving it! We plan on getting some fruit trees and honey bees this summer and starting our own little homestead.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
-Been using this site for chicken information for a while, finally got my girls and decided to join!
