New member to BYC but 6 year lurker. We have a serious problem with chicken math so our numbers just keep climbing! We currently have a bantam flock and a full size flock. Our bantam flock (9 birds) is a mix of random genetics with lots of silkie and frizzle. Our "big girls" are a wellsummer, 2 hybrid copper marans, 2 appenzeller spitzhauben, a white leghorn (we think; was given to us along with it's rooster partner) and a silkie rooster. We just added Narragansett turkeys to the mix as well. Glad to finally join and stop just lurking!

Many of us were lurkers before we joined BYC, myself included. I lost track of my chicken math years ago. I currently have around 400 birds. I have some I'm selling at our local farm swap. I hatch out many chicks every year so around half are males. I keep the best as my future breeders and sell the rest which helps to offset the cost of the feed. Good luck and have fun...
