Hi all!

Hello Jim, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Do your new security measures include electric fencing?
Most likely in some capacity.

I'm live in a subburb, but have 1/4 ac so big backyard.

The coyotes climbed my privacy fence to get in.

We had never had issues so the coop door was open.

It didn't take long to figure everything out and I went on the offensive.

The coyotes had been pushed through our area due to development. They've been eliminated, but I still lock my girls up every night now.

It is sad but we do got to lock them up. poor chickens are just to tasty for their own good.

It's always best to lock them up in a predator proof enclosure at night. If not coyotes, it'll be raccoons, weasels, possums, stray dogs, whatever.
