I just joined today after doing a search about limping chickens. I have one that I got a month or so ago that hasn't seemed to be the healthiest of chickens. It is a speckeled bantam, about five months old, love all the colors it has! (pretty sure it is a pullet, but the man that gave it to me said he thought it was a rooster.) But, it started out as a sneezer, and slept a lot plus had little appetite. I have been using Durymicine in the water, and it seems to have helped, but now it has developed a horrible limp. I don't know if it is something to worry about or not, but it has not gotten any better in the last week. Any thoughts on what I should do. We only have eight chickens, most are mixed, but we really like what we have. Don't want to lose any. :

Do a search on bumblefoot. Good luck with the chicken

I have seen bumble foot in biddies. This chicken walked fine until about a week and half ago.

Just looked up bumble foot. Def. not that! Thanks for responding.

Well if bumble foot is out...hmmm

Nutritional deficiency or trauma. Either way I'd go for a quiet place with supportive care, like vitamins. If there's a wound, care for that.

Imp- not very good at these medical questions. Good luck

Maybe try posting in the Emergency section- where smarter people than me hang out.

Firstly: Welcome!
This is a great BB for chicken info

I started a thread on here about a week ago when one of my Delaware pullets was limping badly.
I searched bumblefoot on here and she was showing none of the signs.
I checked the foot and couldn't find any sort of wound besides a teeny bit of redness in the pad.
She is back to normal now, so I'm thinking it was some sort of trauma.
She spent most of last week roosting apart from the others on a wider surface. Just last night I found her back in the group, so whatever hurt seems to have healed on its own.

I hope your little roo (?) does the same.
