I'm excited to join this group and share as well as learn s'more stuff about our feathered friends. I had an Australorp rooster and still have his hens; Rhode Island Reds and Buff Orpingtons. My rooster's offspring includes this rooster - Mommy, I think, was my Rhode Island. Just a guess. Here's a shot of him - what do you think?


In addition since he was hatched this past Spring I acquired a couple of Plymouth Rock hens, a Silver laced Wyandotte, a Red Laced Wyandotte/Australorp hen cross and another Buff Orpington.
The Wyandotte/Australorp cross is this little lady:

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I agree; your rooster in the top pic looks like a BA X RIR cross. He's a beautiful rooster. Your Wyandotte X Australorp crossed hen is very beautiful as well. :eek:) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

You have some beautiful birds! I especially like the Wyandotte/Australorp cross- her coloring is lovely!
 
Thank you! I'm considering allowing her to breed with my rooster (not related so won;t get any funky mutant babies!) Curious what will turn out.
