Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

I'm going to assume that the "17" means 17% protein, which isn't too bad! I feed all-flock crumbles to adults and chicks as these are silkies. Pellets didn't go over well when we tried those many years ago. The one we get is 20% protein, but most layer is 16 here in the states.

They really will eat it, though. I've spoiled mine by wetting it to make mash and have lately stopped doing it daily just so they quit expecting it.

They also have a non medicated chick crumble with a higher protein percent that I used to feed my quail.
