Okay so actually I never stopped loving them. I grew up with them for a huge chunk of my childhood and always swore that whenever I had the proper place, I would bring them back into my life. College happened, beginnings of a career, and apartments, none of which is conducive to owning poultry of course.

But...I now own a house with a yard! Yay! A friend of mine recently had a new baby and he felt badly that he couldn't give them the time they deserved anymore. I now have 2 gorgeous girls, one is 2 and the other 2 1/2 years old. They are lovely girls, both buff orpingtons. One is named Liuza, the other is Gentily (his wife is from New Orleans)

I will be adding pictures on here ASAP. I don't have any on my tablet so I'll have to get on the laptop to make that happen. I'm so excited to join this community and share stories with everyone!

Welcome back to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. Buff Orpingtons are a wonderful breed. I've raised them for years, and they are very hardy, friendly and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and good layers of large, brown eggs.
