I'm from down near Springfield but I heard that Columbia changed it's laws to allow chickens in the city limits, cool!
Springfield is doing that too, I live out in the country but the people in town must be really happy about it because craigslist is full of poultry for sale and portable coops

when i was there i saw at least several chickens running free in the streets near Hickman High School.

The City of Columbia, MO has an entire organization! The Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture!
