Thanks for all the replies and condolences everyone, I really appreciate it. Thought I would share some pics of the coop build. Got the idea from looking at coops and blueprints here on BYC. Maybe going a little overboard, but happy with it so far. My neighbors and friends have all been really supportive and helped me out a great deal.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend. Your coop looks great! I like that it is raised off the ground and can provide covered space for part of your run.
