Today my Penelope turned 18 wks old and layed her 1st EGG !!!
I found it in her diaper !
I thought it looked a little droopy ...
She is a white crested blue polish hen.I got her when she was 10 wks old and had no idea if she was to be a rooster or hen.She was in bad health when we got her and has been a house chicken since...And thank God for chicken diapers ! Never knew they existed until I saw a post about them.I have not had chickens since I was 9 yrs old and I've learned so much about them on BYC . I'm addicted now !! Ive ordered 15 chicks and will get them by easter
One question though...She has been on medicated chick starter and I was wondering if the egg would be ok to eat? I will be starting her on Layina plus tomorrow.
