Hi everyone -
I finally thought I'd join after a year or so of reading. I currently have a mixed flock of older hens, some new ones in the brooder, and my first batch of 14 Cornish X meaties.
In the coop: 2 Polish (white crested black and white crested blue), 1 Golden Lakenvelder, 1 Silver Spangled Hamburg, 2 Marans (blue and splash), 2 porcelain Dutch bantams (hen and roo). I also have 2 BLRW and 4 Silkies but I'll probably just keep one pullet of each breed.
In the brooder (Meyer, hatch date 3/21/11, all pullets): 2 Delaware, 2 Speckled Sussex, 1 Exchequer Leghorn. Going to keep probably 2 of these. I was expecting to not get enough eggs this year as most of my hens are 3 years old this year and not very productive breeds.
Thanks for all the knowledge provided here - I've been able to find answers for just about everything!
