Hi everyone! I'm new and this is my story

Hello from Salt Lake City!

This website has been such a huge help to me as well! Glad to have you aboard!

Well, the pic he's my special rooster. He is the one that had the limber neck and made it through because of the ideas I found on this site. I've thought about breeding but haven't really had the spark to try. Mainly b/c of what happen with the rooster that is my profile picture. His dad was six months and same as his mom when she went broody on me. She had a natural nest about 10 yards form my house. At night I worried cause we have quite a few predtors around but as from a kid I learned not to touch or move nests of birds cause the mom might abandon the nest. Well, my fear came true one day I was on my way to work the hen came off the hill where her nest was just having a fit and covered in blood. She had gotten attcked by a opposum. He got four of the eggs and got her. Saddly I took her to the vet and her air sak had gotten puncture and I had to put her down cause her percentage to live was 3%. But before she went to vets we gathered th eggs that were left . I didn't have an incubator and this was in the fall so it was the wrong time to get on in store so cause thing i could find for the time being was a heating pad. I did evenutally find one like four hours later someone I called to barrow it called back. Then after the eggs got situated a few days we heard chirps for the incubator. None hatched yet but the next day on my birthday two baby chicks hatched. Chirpy the rooster in the pic and another chick... Five more hatched but something was wrong they all died with in 24hours of hatching except for chipry. I looked and looked for answers but I will never know for sure why. Then chirpy about 2 and half months later developed limber neck. Due to his strong will to survive I had to help him fight good days and bad days even when the vet told me he had a low chance to survive. Look at him now, a spoiled rooster who doesn't think he's chicken. So yeah, breeding I haven't really looked into but maybe the furture with more experiance. I've only been raising chickens little more than a year now and I've learned alot with much more yet to learn. Thank you for you welcome and if I do decide to breed I'll let you know (just be warned they maybe spoiled:) ). Also, I trying to show but where I leave there is now adult shows so I've been trying to get my boyfriend's younger sister to show some of my birds.
