Im 6 weeks into my first batch of Cornish cross chicks, I randomly weighed some today and most are around 4 lbs 15oz. is this a good weight for this age? thanks in advance.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. You're Cornish Cross are pretty close to target. On high protein food, they should gain close to a pound a week. We typically butchered ours at 8 weeks and they weighed about seven to seven and a half pounds. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Cornish Cross.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I have never raised meat birds before, so I can't be sure. You might ask in our Meat Birds section for more help...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/21/meat-birds-etc

Enjoy this new adventure you are on and welcome to our flock!
