Personally I think the neighbors are throwing them over your fence. They decided unanimously to make you the dumping grounds oops I meant chicken shelter for their unwanted poultry.
Other posters are always talking about finding a strange bird in their yard and no one claiming it but, they get one bird. I think a busload stopped at your house. Someone is probably selling maps with your address on it.
You certainly have the right attitude to take them in - must be costing quite a bit to feed them all. Do all of them get along well? You should take photos and put your continuing
adventures in the BYC section "Pictures and stories of my chickens." Or better yet write a book.

it is a wonderful story and a strange one. My guess is that others are dumping them near by and they are coming for the food then deciding to stay. I know that often the bird noises attract other birds, so I would assume that it is the same for chickens.
