Hello, I came across BYC whilst googling runner duck eggs and help with hatching. I live in Derbyshire, UK and have various chickens and ducks all free ranging together during the day and all go to bed in one shed at night :) I have been thinking about getting some runner ducks to add to my collection and at the end I've decided to try and hatch some eggs in my incubator. First batch was unsuccessful as all the eggs had their air sacks detached (I presume this happened in the post - I bought them on eBay). Now I'm giving it another go and put some more eggs in the incubator this morning. Fingers crossed - I'll have more luck this time round :)
I am looking forward to reading the forums and possibly get some hints and tips :)
Take care all
Lucy

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. Those shipped eggs can be so troublesome to hatch out sometimes. Have you tried not turning the eggs for the first several days to give them time to settle after their trip? That seems to help with some of the bad air cells whenever I incubate shipped eggs. Lots of good luck with your hatch
