I raised chickens for years as a kid in 4-H. I bred them, showed them, ate them, ate their eggs, hatched them and so on. I even slept with some baby chicks once thinking I could keep it warm. It didn't live very long because I rolled over on it. I was even called "The Chicken Farmer" on the CB radio. But that was back in the day. Seems like an eternity ago. Then I went to college. Had a career. Started a family. Everything was as it should be. And then I saw baby pheasants for sale on facebook. I had to buy them. Just had to. I didn't have a box for them or a pen or anything. And then I just had to get some jumbo coturnix quail. And then Georgia Giant bobwhite quail. I grew up raising chickens, not Gamebirds! But that's okay. A dear friend of mine got the chickens!! She and I laugh about it. We don't talk about our kids to each other. We don't share recipes. We talk about the birds. We take pictures of the birds. I even caught myself telling our kids to get out of the picture so I could get a picture of the birds.

In order to raise these things, as times have changed and new things happen, I have googled and googled. I always came across this site on Google. I'd take screen shots with my phone so I could remember the information. And then I realized today that I could actually have an account. And I could stop taking so many screen shots because I would have an account. I could actually save the posts and information. Oooohhh, and share pictures!!

But anyway, I'm digging in!! Glad this site is active! I look forward to learning so much more. And sharing!!
