Just discovered that two of my chickens are Easter Eggers. Very pleased. Also, attempting to incubate for the first time. Serema silkies, and I'm told they're very hard to hatch so Hanover lots of fingers crossed. Any advice?

Hi and welcome to BYC! That's so exciting! The Learning Center has tons of great articles on hatching, and you can check out the Incubating and Hatching Eggs forum as well! If you have any questions, always feel free to ask. Best of luck!

I think it is the serama part that is difficult to hatch, maybe the silkie part will help out. Should be very interesting chicks. Hope you will update with photos later on. [IMG]

I've tried hatching Serama's before (without success). Difficult I know, but my incubator was too cool so really my own fault. I think I'll always use a broody in future, and Gold Tops are supposed to be great for that. All the best KikisGirls.
