Welcome to BYC! However don't give up on your local (dutch) chicken community yet - you probably still can find some specific local info there - e.g. related to breeds, where to buy cheap or organic feed, etc

I've read this before in the UK. How on earth does the logic work. Not much is likely to eat a cat or a dog. A chicken, it's not likely to survive long on its own.
