Welcome to Backyard Chickens. Most of us started out as "lurkers," before joining. I lurked for 8 mos. because I could barely do anything on a computer and also I could not believe this incredible resource (BYC) was totally FREE.

Now I spend more time here than sleeping. I love this place. You can make some very good friends quickly.

Wow, what a nice welcome! I live in south Florida, US on the gulf coast. We have 4 hens that are about 6 months. Of course after I got the first group I fell in love and HAD to get more LOL. So, now I have 4 additional ones. I believe 2 are roosters though which means they'll need new homes since I'm in the city and roosters are not permitted.
I've never joined a forum and am honestly have no idea how to post a question. I've read some threads that are similar to questions I have but, not what I'm looking for. My hubby said not to post a question in someone else's question thread. I'm so confused and don't want to annoy anyone or get booted by admin LOL
Any advise is much appreciated!

Your hubby gave you good advice!
When you want to ask a question, click on the Forums tab then scroll through the various titles until you see a category that seems to fit the subject of your question. Click on that forum then click on Post New Thread. Enter a title like you did here and ask your question then click Create Thread! Easy peasy!

Welcome to BYC! Come on in, the water's fine. People are friendly and helpful and won't bite you if you get something wrong. Maybe poke through the forums, see what the different categories are?
