Hi everyone

I have just been blessed with 15 laying hens just 5 days ago.
I have 8 Leghorns 18months old and 6 leghorn/white Sussex hybrids 12 months old and 1 silkie 12 months old.
I have never had chickens before but have been reading everything I can.
I an allergic to corn so I wonder what I can give in the evening instead of an egg cup of corn to each chicken.
My hens are organic

Also, how many eggs a day should I expect from this many hens.
Thank you
:welcome :frow For treats you can give them sunflower seeds, meal worms, oats. I do give my birds corn too as well as the other things I mentioned. I don't think if you gave the birds corn it would affect the eggs except maybe enhance the color of the yolks. Most birds will take one or two days off a weeks. Some breeds are more prolific at laying than others. You will find a lot of good information here BYCArticles.jpg Good luck with your birds and have fun...
