I am in the preparation stage - planning to get a few chicks when we have everything ready for them.

I have heard Rhode Island Reds are good, but open to other suggestions.

My family is recently diving into all aspects of homesteading.

I am a homeschooling mom with 4 kids (ages 14, 12, 12, 8) and a boxer-hound mix dog.

HelloTrixie had a yard sale, and we got to talking about her chicken set up and she recommended this awesome forum.

I love Australorps and Rocks. Easter Eggers are very nice because they're hybrids and they will generally give you colored eggs.
