(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I’ve had chickens since 2019, before that I had never had them.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Umm it’s spring, due to chicken math.. I have 63 plus another 26 eggs in the incubator…

(3) What breeds do you have?

Ameraucana in blue, self blue, white, and black. Partrige Chantecler, Welsummer, and Bresse.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I love watching them, love seeing them grow into different little chicken personalities. I love having eggs for everyone I know, and having tasty chicken I know was raised right, in my freezer.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

We have horses, and just got bees for the first time, between all the animals and farm work that about takes up all the time.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I was googling the genetics of breeding project colors and what not in birds and BYC came up . I thought I would come check it out

Photos of the babies that arrived today! And one of my cheeky white pullets

Thank you!

I definitely came to learn if it’s “simpler” to put a Rosecomb on a welsummer or put welsummer speckles on a Partrige Chantecler egg. 😂
Large single combs do not do well here at all. But I Love welsummer egg speckle, what’s a girl to do? (Breed more chickens of course)
