I totally get it, but the Bantam Cochins dont reallt have the flightyness like the others. They do fly but not like the others. I have English game hens, Seabrights and other bantam breeds as well as the Cochins and they are very very different.I'm a fan of large girls, but if I have no success with this breed, I will certainly try bantams (another advantage of bantams is that I can fit more in my chicken pen- however my biggest turnoff is that they fly too much and there are too many ugly dogs outside my property!)
Yes most bantams are flighty, however the Cochins, at least in my experience, are not.Yeah, my bantams are always jumping off of anything they can climb on. It's crazy.

Definitely, i free range mine and they tend to stay pretty close to the coop and dont adventure too far. I have about 27 and just hatched 20 more. They are definitely my favorite!I will definitely keep bantam cochins into consideration for breeding, they're fairly common in my area!
