My father and I are planning on building our own coop and getting chickens for laying eggs. I would love any tips! Thank you.

check out the learning center, also the thread on coops, runs etc. Predator proofing, lots of good stuff. If you wonder to the "Where Am I, Where are You," forum you can subscribe to a thread for your state, and maybe find people living near you.

! Great to have you aboard. Best of luck on your coop. Make sure you invest in hardware cloth (welded wire mesh) - at least for the ground perimeter and at least a foot up - it will keep most predators out. Good luck and have fun!
