Hi fellow Aussie chicken lovers

Ive been browsing this site for 6 months, since Ruby & Henri(etta) moved in to the little coop in my courtyard garden. Have recently noticed my work mates' eyes glaze over when i mention the word "chicken". Decided ease off "sharing" anecdotes with them & to hang with fellow soul mates instead. Their loss, my gain, hopefully you will better understand my passion....once you get to know a chicken at heart there is no going backwards

Luckily my hubby loves the gals as much as I do so I can talk chickens all I like but BYC is definitely a great sharing/learning spot.

Hi Teila. Its nice to be touching base with other backyard chicken people. My neighbors have an 8 yo grandson who stays with them alot & he is my chicken buddy. He adores the girls & likes t muck in. He wants to know "everything" about them & really grown up questions. With you guys on BYC, all your experience & knowledge I can keep up with him

Hey! Yes haha it's definitely hard to stop talking about the chickens! I'm on BYC to avoid sounding crazy on FB because all I want to do on there is post pics and update the status on my bok bok's, i'm all like

CHICKENS WOOooOOooo! Actually all I wanted to do this morning was tell someone (like literally ANYONE) That my chicks successfully spent their first night outside last night, I had nobody to tell

BYC is a great way to save uninterested family/friends from constant chicken updates, you get it all out of your system telling randoms who also just want to talk about chickens!

Hi Mamabokbok! Thats exactly it. I want to tell my important chicken news & they just dont get it. I read BYC about all those exciting events like your girls BIG night out & cheer for you all. I need to get on with working out how to send pics so that i feel fully fledged.

I have a fair bit of trouble actually getting photos to upload

but you click on the little picture square up the top of the comment/reply box and then select an image or add a link, in theory it's that easy

To post a picture:

After you have selected reply and have your comment box open; select the ‘Insert Image’ option:



Then select ‘Upload Files’:



Browse to where your images are located on your computer, select the images you want to include and then select ‘Open’:



Next you will be prompted to pick a size. Select the size you want and then select Submit:



If the size you pick is too big or small you can delete them from the comments and try again.

You can also repost images using the ‘My Recent Photos’ option.
