HI! First time back yard flock mama in Tennessee...

Hi from the Upper Cumberland area of northcentral Tennessee!

My new friends were hatched on 4/11(through Hoover's Hatchery, I believe) & I obtained them from my local TSC on 4/16 and have been brooding them in my dining room in a watering trough just a smidge smaller than what they were kept in at TSC.

I have 1 Delaware pullet (Della), 2 Amberlink pullets (Amber & Link, though they're identical twins, so we can't tell who is who), 2 Welsummer pullets (Wella & Emma) and a whitelaced black Polish who's been acting suspiciously roosterish since we've brought them all home (hubby named it Peabody - to be prefixed with Mr. or Mrs. accordingly). It was labeled as a straightrun, which I normally would have bypassed with such a small flock, but it was the only one left of its kind, and I felt bad for it. Now we're really hoping it IS male, because it takes such good care of the other girls, even though they're all bigger than it is.

Anyway, I'm glad to have found this place. I have tons of questions, and people seem willing to share their knowledge here without making you buy something. Chickens are expensive as it is.
