hi, first time here, first time with chickens

thanks for the info. my dogs are mutts, so doesn't matter if the chickens are. But while trying to figure out feed and temperatures and things like that, all sites I've found and all books I've found have the information listed by breed. I'm in New England and need to make sure they are warm enough this winter, so thought to figure out breed to get a general range. I'm not stressing about it, they are a lot of fun whatever they are. I just want to make sure I know enough to take care of them right.

The second one is a New Hampshire. The 3rd one looks a little like an ancona, but maybe a mix. The 4th looks like a black sexlink.

excuse my ignorance, please, but everyone is saying sex link, and I can't find that on the breed page here. What am I missing?

Well a "Sexlink" is not a specific breed.

First is a Columbian Leghorn (comb and wattles are way to big for a Rock)
Second is a New Hampshire (way to light to be a Rhode Island Red plus she has ticking in here neck)
Third is a cross bred
Fourth is a Sex-link

The first looks like a colombian Rock (colombian Rocks are much more common than colombian Leghorns). Second looks to be a New Hampshire. Third I would guess is an Ancona. Fourth I believe is a black sex link.
