Good morning, what a great site! First/second time posting and I have a lot of questions lol. I decided to get a few chicks a few months ago. Mainly for egg purposes. (They are getting way to expensive in the stores here). I have several different breeds at different ages. The first lot of chicks I got back in June. 2 Red Sex-Link. 2 New Hampshire Crosses, 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 broiler gal and a Columbian Rock rooster. All are doing great. About 3 weeks ago I got a few more. (More than what I originally was gonna get lol) 2 Barred Rock, 2 Leg-Horn, and a Houdan. I also acquired 3 little Silkies. I'm learning a lot..fast. Thank goodness my husband has had chickens in the past :) Oh! we also have 2 beautiful Call Ducks.. Pip and Peaches, 4 beautiful (always shedding) Siberian huskies and 2 really affectionate cats ( well 1 is anyways haha)

Hello and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. It's great that hubby has experience with chickens - saves alot of head-scratching, on your part :)

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread#post_3239224

All the best

Good morning, and :welcome
If it's chicken, it's likely here. If you don't find it, just ask.

I know some information about what breeds I have but I have a lot more to learn. Sure will appreciate all the help I can get :) Here's some pics..

RMB post your chicken photos at "what breed or gender is this." they should be able to sort them out for you.
