Hi Katie! I'm from Southern Indiana and "dove in" last spring. I ordered from MMcMurray too. I also ordered buff orps and black australorps. I also had the cornish cross. We butchered at 8 weeks, but we should have done it at 6 weeks. They were huge. I got mine June 1 and had my first eggs in October. They've been laying steadily ever since. Chickens are such great animals. Good luck with yours!
