My name is Doug and I live in Austin.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Saw lots of chickens as a kid (Montana, mostly). Started in with chickens here in Texas about two years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
24 laying, a dozen young 'uns, a handful of peeps.
(3) What breeds do you have?
A few RIRs and NHRs, buff Orps, Araucanas and Ameraucanas, couple of Marans, couple of Orloffs, couple of Cochins, couple of Penedesencas, some Black Sex Links, some Ideal 236s.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Ideal Poultry website.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Photography, writing/playing/recording music, reading.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife and I live on six acres with a bunch of big dogs, a cat, an unending supply of possums, raccoons and rat snakes (big egg eaters), and lately a few coral snakes!
