Welcome from So California! I use a 1602 with no fan. Not the greatest hatch rate. Works best if you keep it somewhere that the temperature stays the same all the time. I also hand turn my eggs a few times a day. Is the humidity low where you live? Sometimes you need to add water frequently to keep the humidity up. It is dry here in California. You may want to get a bit of tubing so you can add water without opening the incubator any more than neccessary. I incubate with all the plugs out all the time. Good luck with your hatch. There is a LOT of info on here to help you have a successful hatch, sooner or later. LOL the learning curve is very steep on incubation, and odds are your first hatch will not be your best. Not trying to discourage you, just that is the way it often turns out as you learn how to juggle time, temps, humidity, turning, lockdown, and LEAVE THE CHICKS ALONE when they are hatching. Dont help! When you open the incubator early it kills the chicks in the eggs that are still trying to hatch. Hope that helps.
